it gets the job done to relearn the theft deterrent system and the crankshaft position relearn if you're swapping out an ECM yourself. Hopefully the information helps everyone out.

Super recomendable y a un costo muy bajo. Puedes programar todo lo que hace un MDI.

This can save several hundreds to thousands at the dealership.
This is the tool you want, but, if you don't want to set up a virtual machine, just use it on a $50 pawnshop laptop for best results. DIY revived a bricked EV with no automotive experience.

I have GM software tools i paid 3000k for from a reputable source. This 100 dollar tool is basically the same. Crazy how can i compete.

I am using a small laptop with windows 7 with the Nano and the Tech2 for programming using Pass-thru mode and all is working fine.
If all you are wanting to do is diagnostics on vehicles then the Nano will do it and it will do everything the Tech2 will do. The Nano uses a windows based program that is a Tech2 emulator called TECH2WIN and has all the same menus and functions as the Tech2
I purchased my nano with needed software from VXDiagshop, they use email support and Teamviewer if needed for a tech to login to your computer and look things over. they've been very fast to answer my questions and give support.

I recently use the download from VXdiagShop and it works for me

I like everything about this interface and software. Much cheaper than the Tech2 and I've had zero issues using it. Had to email tech support over a software access issue, but was taken care of immediately. I took others advice and purchased a cheap 32 bit (has to be 32 bit Windows 7) from ebay for $120 instead of fighting with trying to get this work on other than Win 7 32 bit operating software. Also don't use the laptop for anything else and don't allow it access to my network. Unsure of the necessity of this, but better safe than sorry...

I paid the freight to get the MDS2 with subscriptions for SPS, GDS2 and Tech2Win. After some study, I repaired my Volt quickly, and moved on to my others. No worries.

I got this thing to work very well! I reprogrammed my ECU, Unlocked a donor radio ( but I had to reprogram the anti-theft program to complete). I first thought I had to use the AC Delco program, but i didn't. Takes a lot of patience and time, but it's worth it. I also used a newer laptop with windows 10. I also received a thumb drive With ALL the downloads I needed to have. So don't think the small metal piece is just an empty drive. It's everything you need! Just find some directions on youtube or go to the vxdiagshop site.

I loaded it on old Acer laptop that I had previously upgraded to Win11 (not Pro). I downloaded the software and got error messages for "malware". Researched the error message and it stated that it was a "Google Chrome based system error". So, I switched to Firefox and downloads went smoothly. Loaded the software from the website, (not the USB thumb drive). Followed the instructions on the website and had no issues. Was able to scan the ABS on my 2008 GM 3500 Silverado and it worked perfectly, narrowing the issue to the right front wheel sensor. Saved a bunch of troubleshooting hours. Highly recommend this tool even if you need help installing it. I have 4 GM vehicles, so this is a real value!

worked as advertised. Used as passthru when using tech connect from AC Delco. Paid $45 for Tech connect subscription. Installed drivers from flash drive that came with VXdiag card. Programming tcm took 10 min. Installing driver for VXdiag card and installing tech connect from AC Delco took about 2hrs or so. VXdiag card can be used to program anything on the truck or car that you use it for. TCM, PCM, ECM and any module that needs service.

The product is difficult to install the software, not for the non tech savvy person. get their technical support to assist you with the software. They are very helpful.
Be very careful, know what you are looking to change.
very powerful and provides significant access to the vehicle programming.
This investment has paid for itself with me programming my own key fobs for my cars.

thanks to the support group for helping install the program and quick communication!!..the device is of very good quality!!!

I now have a VXDiag Nano and it works perfectly with techstream. The company provides firmware updates fairly regularly for the device too.

So, I got my VCX Nano with the Tech 2 emulator. It works great (on a Windows 8 laptop), no modifications to the laptop needed.

I like the VXDIAG with GDS2. Runs all the same GM software as the dealership.
byMr.Jetty Scotton Dec 14, 2023
I finally was able to get tech 2 and the newer GDS 2 to work.
First off, you will be best suited to just run it on a Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL 32 BIT operating system. If you don't have something with that on it I wouldn't bother venturing down this path.
Secondly you probably want a machine with a little more horsepower than what Windows 7 needs so your computer is sure to keep up with the data transfer and emulation processes.

Make sure you install the VX Manager software BEFORE you connect it to your computer. It was a PITA to set up, but after all of it, it worked like a charm. Saved me a fortune from towing it to the dealer and it worked with a USED PCM. Would use and buy again!!!! Would have liked to had the WIFI version though this one is USB wired. Do not worry about all of the GM software on the USB drive included with the VCX Nano. All of the pertinent software will be installed when you go to ACDelco Techconnect for the flash package for your car. It will update a few times before it will actually bring you to the vehicle selection screen. Be patient!! It will work.
